The Forest is a survival horror videogame developed by Endnight Games. Developed for PC, this adventure is one of the most anticipated survival horror games of the year. Once you download the game, you will wake up on the fuselage of a crashed plane, in the middle of a "deserted" island. At least, this is what it seems. The videogame is based on other survival games such as Minecraft, from where they take the open-world, the crafting things and the building features. In addition, Don't Starve has served as inspiration for the day/night cycle in which you must collect as many items and materials as possible during the day and protect yourself from monsters during the night.
Right before waking up, you will notice that you do not have the necessary resources and means for survival, so you will need to take all what you need from the plane. Nevertheless, plane's provision will quickly deplete, so you will have to find the resources on the island, either water and food or wood, rocks and more materials. Do not think that you will find food lying on the ground; you will have to work hard to find it. You can fish, you can build traps, and you will have to hunt to catch animals.
You can also plant your own garden to grow fruits or vegetables. However, you are in the most realistic forest ever, so take into account that if you over-hunt an area, animals will run out. If you collect too many mushrooms, they will stop growing in that area. The same occurs with the trees; when you cut one of them down, they will not grow again, so you will be able to chop down the whole forest if you want (even if this would take you months).
Enemies are not what you think
If I tell you that the creatures you will face in The Forest are quite similar to the ones in I Am Legend, I think you can guess how they are. They are not mindless monsters, nor even evil creatures that have been born to slaughter and torture; they are just a mysterious cannibal tribe that lived in the island before you arrived. Even though now you will think it is impossible, you will feel empathy for them. Who is the enemy? After all, you are invading their forest, hunting the animals they hunt and using the resources they use.

The creatures of The Forest react like real people, with some cannibalistic and primitive behavior, but in the most human way you can expect from a strange humanoid creature. They care about each other, they love their mates. Do not be surprised if when you defeat a creature, its mate start sobbing over its lifeless body, of if it gets so angry because you have killed its friends that it chases you tirelessly. Maybe it gets so scared because of your skills that it flees in horror from you, even they may sacrifice themselves for protecting a member of their tribe.
Do not forget they are trying to eat you, but only because they are hungry, not because they are evil. They are nocturnal creatures, so during the day, they will let you be and explore The Forest at will. You will be able to hunt, build your creature-proof shelter, etc. They will not even notice you unless your paths cross. They will feel curiosity about you: the most terrifying moments of the game are when you have to hide on a bush when you hear them looking for you. You have two options. The first and most prudent choice is to be stealthy, create a secure shelter and leave them alone. You can also combat them and try to defeat as many cannibal creatures as possible, either by fighting them when you suddenly encounter, or going to their home during the day and burning them all. However, you will not be able to be stealthy the whole time. In addition, take into account that like animals, there are a set number of tribe members, and you can defeat the whole tribe and no more of them will spawn.
