From time to time, there are some games released that change the concept of the genre completely. Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming is an original proposal that will give the player 30 seconds for saving the world. As a continuation to the first instalment for PSP systems, developed by Marvelous Entertainment, this title takes the time element that made the game perfect for short and funny times, published on PC, available for digital download.
The world is threated by the worst enemies in history, those that want to destroy the whole planet and have the spell for doing it in just 30 seconds. Luckily, the Time Goddess is on your side and will aid you in increasing the available time for saving the world… but it won’t come free since the Goddess loves money above all. With this kind of silly plot, the second installment of Half-Minute Hero comes better than before, if even it were possible with the retro technical aspect. Personally, I think that the creative part of the game overcomes all the general aspects of the title, and its ridiculous humor makes our short-time hero game highly recommendable.

The technical aspect tries to emulate old 16-bit with better colors that we could see in SNES videogame consoles. The visual aspect gives the game a unique feeling, and the speed with which it is planned gives you no time at all think about complex strategies while you are playing, just level up and beat the Evil Lord of that stage before time runs out.
How to play
The standard game mode presents a simple role-playing game in which you have to level up defeating enemies on the map field. Unlike other RPGs, here you won’t count with battle menus or similar, just go ahead, and the battles go almost automatically for saving time. You can customize your character with the loot you pick from the enemies or the weapons and armor equipment you buy in the town village. Pray to the Goddess and in exchange for money she will return the countdown to a 30-second one again.
For the first time in the series, Half-Minute Hero includes a multiplayer mode. The gameplay may not be the so appropriate for this kind of mode, but the game style is not modified at all. The leaderboards will show the score the players get, leveling up and defeating more Evil Lords over the world. This up to four-player multiplayer mode increases the game duration, thanks to its online support, and makes it different from other RPG games.
Besides the additional game modes, the players will be able to create their own custom maps for sharing them online. This way the variety is increased by downloading new content. Enjoy the different eras and create awesome environments for sharing them in Steam Workshop. Additionally you can unlock multimedia content such as artwork in its gallery and music progressing in the game.

As the title of the game suggests you as a player who now is the hero in the game has half a minute to save the world from some of the evil lords that destroy it though there is a goddess of time that will be supporting you and thus it will help you to increase the time that you will need to save the people of the earth from their enemies which you have to pay for!.There are also various game modes which are available for you as a player and also you can be able to create your own world maps so that you can be able to navigate through the world. This game to me appeared as if they were trying to get the idea of the secong coming of our Lord Jesus Christ the way he would come to save humanity.

Well, it seems that the world is in danger again, and you got caught right in the middle of everything, isn’t it right? Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming takes you to solve the everlasting problem of saving the world from those bad guys that want to destroy it with magic. The continuation of the funny title originally released on PSP has finally come to PC. This atypical RPG will take us to a world which will only last about 30 seconds, and you will have the duty to save it in that little time. Will you be able to do that? Well, truth be said, you count with the help of the Time Goddess that will expand the remaining time in exchange of money.
The battles are really fast, and as in any other RPG you will have to train for leveling up before you get to the final fight against the boss of the zone. Strategy is important, but with so little time to think you will have to act before time runs out. The simple graphics and the sound aspect resemble those from 16-bit systems. If you are looking for a fast-pace RPG, which is not so usual, you will choose Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming without a doubt.
- It continues with the original gameplay
- Multiplayer game mode for the first time
- Too confusing for novice players
