Review

Family Guy The Quest for Stuff is a mobile videogame in which you have to rebuild Quahog after Peter and the evil Giant Chicken destroyed it in one of their multiple fights. Developed and published by TinyCo, Inc., this game offers you the possibility of playing and controlling your favorite characters from the TV series. You can also visit all the famous places of Quahog such as the Drunken Clam, the Griffins' house and their neighbors, etc.

The graphics are quite similar to the ones you can see when watching episodes on your TV. Every building is just like the one from the show, if there is an animated object from the series, you will find it in the game. The music is also the same as you have always listened to in the episodes. It varies from the original soundtrack by including other songs that also appear in the show, such as the Surfing Bird song. Of course, this adventure is full of nods to all episodes such as the Shipoopi dance or Peter moaning for two hours because of his knee.

Gameplay

As mentioned, your main mission will be to rebuild Quahog, building by building. For this purpose, you will have to use the characters to complete missions and get experience points, coins and clams. Coins are the main currency of the game, and each time your character performs an action, you will be rewarded with currency. They serve to build buildings, place decorations, and buy some other items for the gameplay. Clams are the paid currency. You can obtain some of them while playing, but just a few, the rest must be purchased with real money. Purchasing them is not necessary to complete the game, but they serve to speed up some tasks (which can take hours to be completed) and if you are not patient enough, clams are your solution.

You can use your social network to invite your friends to join the adventure. You can also visit them and earn extra currency by performing some tasks in their cities. This is explained as part of Stewie's multiverse. There is also a social network within the game. Here, you will be able to see what that character posts (photos, statuses...) and share it on your own real social network. Each time you unlock a character (which you can do by completing tasks and building the famous places of Quahog), you will have access to his or her profile.

Rebuild Quahog in any way you want and find all the characters

By Ellie Teller

On Friday, November 27, 2015

Family Guy the Quest for Stuff is a building videogame that follows the successful path of The Simpsons game. This one uses the same mechanics- you have to rebuild the city of Quahog after a fight with the giant chicken. To do this, you have to create buildings that will unlock characters. Some iconic buildings will grant you a character that is directly related to them, such as Jerome once you finish the Drunken Clam. These characters can perform several actions that will grant you a fixed amount of money depending on how long did it take for them to complete it. Buildings also grant money, but the vast majority of your earnings come from the citizens. As you progress you will earn XP, coins (the regular in-game currency) and clams, which are the game’s premium currency. These clams can be used to accelerate a task or buy premium buildings and decorations.

Pros

  • The graphics style is just like in the show
  • A vast array of buildings and characters

Cons

  • It becomes more time consuming as you progress

Family Guy: The quest for stuff is a fun quirky game developed by TinyCo and Published by Fox Digital Entertainment. The story behind the game is that the show Family Guy has been canceled again, and Fox is using this method to explain why. Turns out: The Giant chicken who is always fighting with peter is responsible for the show being canceled this time around and Peter Griffin fights him because of it. Thus destroying all of Quahog. The aim of the game is to rebuild the city to its former glory. In the way you want it to be built.

The game had an update in May of 2014 titled “Kingdom of the full moon” which is a spin off of Indiana Jones adventures. This update added an Ancient Egyptian museum and makes you collect moon idols in order to find Cleveland Brown.

You can find the game on the Google play store for android as well as the app store for IOS

Pros

  • Fun Addicting rebuild style game play
  • Easy to use very entertaining
  • You can buy your way through some of it with real money items

Cons

  • A lot of the buildings take a long time to build very early on in the gameplay
  • You don't have to but it is almost a need to buy the items to speed things up.
