Review

There are some times that you need to send a message to your contacts and the signal on your mobile phone isn't available. Since we users have grown dependable on our network connection, FireChat tries to change that current tendency by enabling offline messages thanks to the use of the Wireless Mesh Networking. Created by Open Garden, this free app changes the rules of the game about communicative programs offering additional options for granting that your texts are properly sent.

The functionality of FireChat is really similar to other communication applications, where you can simply write short messages to your contacts. FireChat also includes a Nearby mode in which you can write to people who are 30 feet or less from your location, without the need to be connected to the Internet, in a similar way to former Bluetooth messaging systems. You can talk with several contacts at the same time or in a private window for individual chatting.

FireChat works well, it's free, and it is growing exponentially amongst Android and iOS users. Due to the way it works, this chatting app requires a fast rate of growth to improve it's effectiveness, and according to its developers, the future of the application is bright and promising. The FireChat download in your smartphone device will allow you to connect to your contacts in a different way.

How it works

Communication technologies change with the times. In the Internet age, there are some times when you're not able to access any Internet connection. For this reason, both Apple and Google are trying to avoid these kinds of situations by including an additional way to maintain communication on their systems, called Wireless Mesh Networking. If you ever have used a Walkie Talkie, the way it works is very similar.

FireChat communicates with other devices through a multipeer framework. This allows creating hyperlocal networking systems, without using the Internet for communicating between several devices at the same time. To send messages to a mobile phone that is further than 30 feet away, the connectivity system will use other devices to deliver your message instead of an Internet connection with its multi-hop mesh connecting technology.

This system has overwhelmed their creators due to its success. The only point we can find against it is that it is very dependent on other devices, which first needs to create a strong network by downloading FireChat and only then can they use the app as a bridge to other mobile phones. Both Android and iOS devices are not compatible without an Internet connection since the Mesh Networking protocols are not supported. For the moment, the proposal is interesting; its growth rate is quite strong, and we think it has a bright future “burning” the rest of the messaging applications we depend on.

In the wake of the technological advancement and continuous change. There arises a dare need to get rid of all ways that cut on effective communication. Open Garden have at last come up with a very unique application that is not 100% dependant on the internet for connection.

The application is a form of a chat platform that actually can function on a rather interesting way. Just as the normal Bluetooth applications on devices so can Fire chat pass on messages to people within range. The Nearby mode allows messages to people in a 30 foot radius to acces the message. This comes in as a very effective tool in office communication when passing on important memos very fast and effectively.

This application uses the multipeer framework as its mode of communication with other networks without using the internet by creating what is commonly known as hyper local networking systems.

This means that for effective communication both communicating devices must have the application installed.

Pros

  • The download is easy and fast to get.
  • Does not require any intrenet for short distance communication
  • Allows one to save on money and battery life of devices

Cons

  • This application is not a stand alone its dependant on other applications.

Most chat applications need you either to have internet connection or use money in order to enjoy your communication. But not with firechat. This application was developed by Open Garden's Mesh Networking Technology in its communication process. This networking technology helps firechat to connect to people in the remote areas where little or no network connection is available. With firechat you can continue with online communication with anybody anywhere they are. This is a all people application. Since this version is updated to version 1.4 it has some great features like messaging to anyone around you with or without internet connection through android devices. It has a everyone mode where you can see what the people what the people talking everywhere. You can use it to chat with a group or a single person. Another feature is to create a nearby mode which works within 30 feet range or less for conversations with people nearby. This application has a very simple interface with very few buttons for easy use. So, to have firechat free of charge on your android you need a space of 5MB and an operating system preferably an android.

Firechat is highly recommended since you can chat with anybody with or without internet connectio

Pros

  • Everything is free to operate
  • Can operate with or without internet connection.

Fire chat is just an awsome app..it basically gives you what your regular network provider cant..It works with the functionality that you can still communicate with the least of network around you..Yes this is only possible when you have an expensive satellite phone.. With this app you will experience life like no other time..

Its really simple to use, you can send messages to people for free but this is if you are not far away from each other.. You ask how all this is possible?? well it uses net access to give you the required access you want.. You can multi chat..

How it works

Fire chat uses other connectivity to deliver your messages, so if you want to send a message further away than your coverage area, you can send it also for free. As long as there are other devices along the path..

The mesh it uses will be used to convey the message you want, other devices will be used as a follow up path if you are far away from the recepient.

The application also keeps you battery usage to a minimum, it shuts off the application off when not in use and turns on when a message is about to be delivered.. The application is also free to use and you only incurr internet connectivity costs..

Conclusion

The application is likely to hit viral because it is rapidly becoming famous. The ease of access is also an added advantage.. Only wish they can add a call option

Pros

  • the app is free of charge
  • everything is just free free fee
  • can send messages for free

Cons

  • relies on other devices .
